  8. I can use the relationships between measurement units to change from unit to unit and I can explain that decimals are used to record fractional parts of a unit.

  9. I can explain my understanding of fractions are equal shares and division is sharing which can be written as a fraction and the remainder can be written as a fraction.

  10. I understand that many strategies can be used to estimate decimal sums and differences.

  11. I can explain my understanding that addition with decimals is an extension of addition with whole numbers.

  12. I can explain my understanding that subtraction with decimals is an extension of addition with whole numbers.

  13. I understand that addition and subtraction with decimals is an extension of addition with whole numbers.
